The QEII Foundation is recognized as a leading health care fundraising organization in Atlantic Canada. The Foundation supports the QEII Health Sciences Centre – the largest health sciences centre in Atlantic Canada.
The QEII Foundation is actively recruiting a leader to manage and further develop the organization’s community initiatives portfolio as Special Projects Officer.
Reporting to the Manager of Clinic Based Fundraising, the Special Projects Officer will support the Annual Giving Department with strategies and initiatives to increase gift revenue.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and advance community fundraising initiatives to increase and promote community involvement.
- Promote, manage and expand the grateful patient program (Angels in Action) by coordinating donations, providing recognition and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Cultivate relationships with QEII Health Sciences Centre staff and provide support for fundraising initiatives.
- As key contact for Veterans’ Memorial Garden donations, manage donations and orders for the Walk of Honour.
- Represent the QEII Foundation in the community and at the QEII Health Sciences Centre by speaking at events and meetings; some occasional evening and weekend events.
- Manage community initiative web presence and related social media.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with peers, donors and staff at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and short deadlines and with minimum supervision
- Highly creative self-starter with a collaborative approach and a demonstrated success record
- A relevant undergraduate degree (ie. Business, Public Relations) or acceptable combination of relevant qualifications and experience
- Minimum of three (3) to five(5) years of related experience with increasing responsibility in positions in development or a closely related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and related social media knowledge
- Experience in fundraising, event planning and coordinating and managing volunteers is an asset
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
