Datarite is a local company specializing in technology products, supplies and technical services for Atlantic Canada. In 2003, Datarite began an environmental program to promote the recycling of used toner cartridges.
The program is twofold – helping the environment and the QEII. For every used toner cartridge returned by a QEII Health Sciences Centre department, Datarite makes a donation to the QEII Foundation. They pick up the used toner cartridges, free of charge, and then they are remanufactured. This program has been positive for the environment in keeping waste from our landfills, and it has also created jobs for people in the community.
