The Director of Major Gifts will provide leadership and direction to senior volunteers and staff to attract significant contributions that enhance patient care, support professional education and advance medical research at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. The candidate will have significant experience in successful major gift fundraising and capital campaigns, and will have provided dynamic leadership at the senior management level. Reporting to the President & CEO, he or she will lead a departmental staff of four and will work collaboratively with senior medical staff, researchers, health centre administrators and the corporate community. As a great communicator, the successful candidate will have outstanding writing skills, have a gift for gathering complex information and translating it into words that move people. They are known for their integrity, dedication to a cause that is important, and passion for making a difference in the lives of others. Working with community leaders and dealing effectively with a wide range of relationships as part of the major gift process has been an exciting and rewarding part of his or her career.

The fundraising program at the QEII Foundation is donor centred, integrated and focused on moves management. Candidates who have three to five years of experience in similar programs and a university degree are encouraged to apply. Bust a Move is a highly successful fundraising event that supports Breast
Health and is a joint initiative between the QEII Foundation and the IWK Foundation. We are looking for the right person to join our team and fill this pivotal role. Applicants should have the ability to multi-task, adhere to tight deadlines and excel at delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have a successful track record in special event production, corporate sponsorships, project management and customer service, excellent writing skills, computer literacy, outstanding public speaking and presentation skills, and experience in website and social media management. Experience working with volunteers and budget management is mandatory. The QEII Foundation is currently looking for a full-time receptionist/assistant for our Halifax Infirmary office. Applicants require a minimum of five years related experience and must have a certified administrative support diploma or equivalent experience. The successful candidate will be mature, with a high degree of professionalism and must be able to work with minimum supervision.
The successful candidate will, have excellent customer service skills, be able to multi-task and work effectively in a busy environment, be proficient in computer skills (Windows/MS Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook), and have excellent keyboard and proofreading skills.
