A regular departmental meeting turned into a surprise Angel in Action pinning for Dr. David Hirsch, staff nephrologist with the Division of Nephrology. 
Also a professor of medicine at Dalhousie University and director of the Satellite Hemodialysis Program for Nova Scotia, Dr. Hirsch is a champion for nephrology, which involves the diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases. He was nominated as an Angel in Action by a former patient who wanted to express deep appreciation and say thank you in a special way for Dr. Hirsch’s caring work during her stay at the health centre.
Dr. Ken West, staff nephrologist and interim head, Division of Nephrology, described Dr. Hirsch as an “outstanding clinician and a strong advocate for the needs of patients in his administrative roles within the institution.”
