The QEII Foundation welcomes gifts of securities, such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds. This gift can be made today or as part of your Will. The federal government has created special incentives to encourage such gifts by eliminating the capital gains tax when securities are transferred directly to a charity.

Arranging your gift of securities
Electronic Transfer:
Step 1 - We encourage you to contact us at the Foundation, prior to your planned transfer of securities, to discuss the purpose of the gift. Charles O'Neil, gift planning advisor, is available at 902-473-7932 or at charles.o'neil@qe2foundation.ca.
Step 2 - With written instructions from you, your broker can arrange for the electronic transfer of your shares to our account. The Foundation's account custodian is:
Step 3 - To complete the transfer and to receive a tax receipt*, the QEII Foundation requires that you call 902-473-4511 or email us the following:
- the name and contact information of your broker
- your account number
- the type of securities being transferred
- the number of shares or units
- how you wish to designate your gift
* The value of your tax receipt will be based on the closing market price of the securities on the day deposited to the Foundation's account.
Paper Transfer:

Step 2 - Complete a Power of Attorney Form. Feel free to use our sample form.
