Back in January, when Robert Manuel launched his "Have a Heart" campaign for the Multi Organ Transplant Program at the QEII, he vowed to cut his shoulder length hair if he raised $5,000. If he raised $10,000 he would “buzz” his head. Today, on Breakfast Television he went through with the buzz, hoping his hairless head will inspire more people to donate to bring his total of $9,764.8 to $10,000!
"So many people supported this campaign for the good cause it supported and because they wanted to see me bald. Some even contributed twice to help bring the total up. I decided that it was so close they should get what they paid for. I also have faith that many of the viewers watching Breakfast Television this morning will contribute over the next week to make sure we hit our $10,000.00 goal."

Have a Heart fundraising campaign raises funds for the Multi Organ Transplant Program at the QEII
Robert Manuel has a lot to be thankful for. Ten years ago, after what he thought was a simple bout with the flu, he ended up in the hospital when his body retained over 40 pounds of fluid. Diagnosed with an enlarged heart, he was brought to the QEII Health Sciences Centre where cardiac procedures were initiated, culminating in a heart transplant that saved his life.
Now, Robert wants to give something back. Beginning this January 5, 2010, and extending until February 14, 2010 (Valentine’s Day) he is going to launch his own fundraising initiative called “Have a Heart” to raise $5,000 for the Multi Organ Transplant Program. If successful, he will cut his hair and donate the hair for a cancer wig. If he raises $10,000, Robert has vowed to “buzz” his head completely.

Let’s all work together to see Robert bald!
