November 26, 2007 - The QEII Foundation has announced the appointment of Dr. Louise Parker as the first Canadian Cancer Society Nova Scotia Division Chair in Population Cancer Research. The appointment of Dr. Parker aims to address the high rate of cancer in the province through evidence based cancer prevention strategies and health and society research.

November 7, 2007 - Patients needing the latest in minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures will benefit from the recent installation of a Computerized Tomography (CT) Fluoroscopy Unit at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. A gift of approximately $400,000 from the d'Eon-Langille Family to the QEII Foundation made the acqisition of the technology a reality for patients.

November 2, 2007 - The QEII Foundation announced today a donation of $220,000 by Wal-Mart Canada and their vendor partners towards breast cancer research and diagnosis at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. September 26, 2007 - Neurosurgeons at the QEII Health Sciences Centre and patients in Cape Breton have much to celebrate today after the announcement of funding for a Remote Presence Neurosurgical Robot for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital through a gift of almost $400,000 from donor Joe Shannon of Cape Breton to the QEII Foundation.

Working Miracles is the largest capital campaign for health in Atlantic Canada, and this campaign will have far reaching benefits for all Atlantic Canadians.

On March 30, 2007, the Rehab Centre received a special delivery - a new 2006 Chevrolet Aveo, complements of General Motors Canada Ltd, from their Oshawa, Ontario plant. This new car will replace the 1980 Pontiac Phoenix that patients and their family members have been using to practice transferring in and out of a vehicle. This wonderful gift was made to the QEII Foundation's Working Miracles capital campaign.
On February 20, 2007, the QEII Foundation celebrated February Heart Month by announcing the successful fundraising for a Digital Echocardiography Network (D.E.N.) to support the Division of Cardiology and the Heart Health Clinical Program in the District. The purchase of the new equipment was funded through donations of $400,000 from the Sobey Foundation, $300,000 from Servier Canada Inc., with the remainder funds coming from other contributions. The acquisition of a Digital Echocardiography Network is one of numerous health care announcements that have been made possible by the QEII Foundation's Working Miracles Capital Campaign.
