Emails claiming to be from the Queen Elizabeth Foundation or QEII Foundation in London, United Kingdom, and notifying the recipient that they are the recipient of a grant/donation in the denomination of pounds are NOT from this organization. These emails are a scam attempting to collect personal information from the recipients. The RCMP has been notified about these emails, but if you receive such an email, feel free to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Calling Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or on the internet at www.phonebusters.com.

The QEII Foundation raises funds to enhance patient care at the QEII by purchasing medical equipment, funding special projects, research initiatives and in-service education. The Board of Trustees and the staff of the QEII Foundation are also committed to protecting the privacy of our donors and potential supporters.

Here's How Your Information is Used

The information that you share with us such as your name, title, address, telephone number, email address, donation history and other relevant information is collected for the following purposes:

  • To comply with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency guidelines;
  • To provide you with periodic stewardship information and appropriate recognition;
  • To provide you with information about the QEII Foundation and its activities; and
  • To provide you with further opportunities to support the QEII.

Your Information Stays With Us

The QEII Foundation does not sell, lease, trade or share your information with anyone. Only generalized statistics may be shared or reported. Personal information about our donors is stored in a password protected database and manual filing system within the confines of the QEII Foundation office. All staff members sign a confidentiality agreement as part of their employment contract.

How the QEII Foundation Acquires Information

Your information becomes part of the QEII Foundation's database and file system when you have made a donation or participated in one of our programs or events. However, names, addresses and telephone numbers that are published in telephone directories or other public records and are not considered personal may be used to acquire new donors for support. The QEII Foundation does not have access to patient records and medical information within the QEII or any part of the Capital Health District.

Recognizing Your Donations

The QEII Foundation publishes a Stewardship Report to inform our donors of their gifts at work and to show accountability by disclosing our audited financial statements. In the past, we have recognized donors who have made gifts of $100 or more within that year by listing their names in this report. We have also recognized certain donors by putting their names on special walls at various locations within the QEII.
