The first-ever
Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation’s Comedy Cures was a huge success, raising $200,000 for the new Emergency and Trauma Centre at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.
From the moment the guests arrived at the Cunard Centre on September 9, 2008, they were treated to our very own version of New York City. The food, the sights, and the entertainment set the perfect atmosphere for Jerry Seinfeld to take the stage for a remarkable comedy performance.
A sincere thank you is extended to all of the guests, sponsors, volunteers and committee members who contributed to this event and who demonstrated that laughter is the best medicine and Comedy Cures!

The nationally accredited QEII Emergency & Trauma Centre is being expanded to enhance patient care and to give medical teams the proper environment for them to do their life-saving work. The funding of this expansion will be a partnership between the QEII Foundation and the Department of Health.

Construction began in fall 2007, with anticipated completion in spring 2009.
