On February 8, 2008, snow enthusiasts participated in the 15th annual Head for the Hills Ski Challenge. With conditions just right, participants enjoyed a day of skiing at Ski Wentworth to support the purchase of new equipment for the cardiac catheterization lab at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Each year more than 7,200 cardiac catheterizations and surgeries, and 1,700 angioplasties are performed on patients. Early intervention reduces the risks for heart patients and can save lives.
Read two stories from patients who hold the cardiac catheterization lab near and dear to their heart.
The 15th annual Head for the Hills Ski Challenge marked a huge milestone - from this annual event in support of health care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in this amazing milestone!
