In the spirit of the season, employees of Manulife Financial directed $5,000 to the QEII Foundation for the Dalhousie Multiple Sclerosis Unit at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.
Through their Spirit of Giving program, each major Manulife Financial office across Canada gives employees the opportunity to direct a holiday donation to the charity or charities of their choice in their local community. Six employees are randomly selected from a draw to form a committee, with each committee member bringing forward a recommended charity of choice.
Joanne Keigan, vice president, group benefits operations, Manulife Financial, described the committee’s choice “as an emotional decision when you realize how many people are affected by multiple sclerosis in the community.”

The Dalhousie Multiple Sclerosis Unit provides care to patients with multiple sclerosis with the ultimate goal of helping patients live better. Trudy Campbell, NP, and Mike Kehoe, RN, from the unit expressed heartfelt appreciation to Manulife Financial for their generous donation, which will help the unit explore the continued development of outreach programs for patients, like telehealth and remote options.
