Derek Caine was recognized as an Angel in Action for his outstanding impact to health care. As a former leukemia patient, Derek wanted to give back so over the last several years, he has teamed up with some of the city’s best blues musicians to produce two albums and hold several concerts. The proceeds, in addition to donations from family, friends and others wishing to support the fund, have accumulated to reach the amazing $100,000 milestone. 
The funds raised are used to assist leukemia patients in financial need with things like food, eye glasses, travel expenses, pharmacy costs, etc.
