Atlantic Canadians donate hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to the QEII Foundation. Whether it is through our donor calling program or our mail appeals, we give donors the opportunity to contribute annually to patient care in a way that is convenient to them. Because of the overwhelming response we receive from annual giving, the QEII Foundation has been able to purchase major pieces of equipment, fund research initiatives and special programs, and promote educational opportunities which, in turn, benefit the patients who come to the QEII each year.
The donor calling staff members are proud of the work that goes on at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. They connect with past donors who pledge their support to the QEII with a personal giving schedule and method convenient to them.
Donor calling staff can also answer many questions people may have about the QEII Health Sciences Centre and the Foundation.
The 2008 Spring Appeal is targeting the purchase of a CT Simulator. The addition of this vital piece of equipment at the QEII Health Sciences Centre will allow Radiation Oncologists to pinpoint and identify a cancerous tumor, while detecting the healthy tissue surrounding the tumor. The advantage in this is the reduction of radiation to healthy tissue.

Our mail appeals make it easy to support adult health care in your community. An appeal for donations is mailed to Nova Scotians to ask for help in the purchase of necessary equipment for the QEII. Along with our request, we also send some helpful information as a way of saying "thanks" and "take good care of yourself".

Receipts for income tax purposes are issued promptly following a one-time gift and once a year for gifts pledged over time.
