Established in 2006, Craig’s Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society recognized a need to provide advocacy and awareness to pancreatic cancer patients and families in Atlantic Canada. With the help of an all-volunteer group of individuals and businesses who generously donate their services, Craig’s Cause has increased local awareness of pancreatic cancer and the need for funding for important research at the QEII.
By organizing an annual community cycling tour, creating new chapters of the society in other areas of the country – who also have begun fundraising on behalf of Craig’s Cause – the society has begun the process of building seed funding for pancreatic cancer research in a larger scope. The fundraising events have resulted in special contributions and a dedicated commitment to fundraising for the Pancreatic Cancer Research fund at the QEII.
Craig’s Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society has hosted and participated in fundraising activities to benefit pancreatic cancer research at the QEII Health Sciences Centre through the QEII Foundation, raising over $160,000 for the fund to date and drawing important attention to the cause with other non-profits such as GIVETOLIVE.
