QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation
Bequest

A gift in your Will (bequest) is a straightforward way to support future health care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. A bequest will not affect your cash flow today and you maintain complete control over all your assets during your lifetime.

Charitable bequests are considered a charitable donation and qualify for a tax credit that your executor may use to offset income taxes owing on your final tax return. Your executor may claim credits of up to 100% of the net income on your final two annual tax returns. With careful planning it may be possible to eliminate all income taxes payable on death.

To make it easier for you, we have provided the following sample wording for your Will.  When preparing a Will you should consult a lawyer to ensure your wishes are legally binding.

If there is ever a time which suits your circumstances we would appreciate such generosity because it can help us provide for vital medical care for the benefit of future generations of Atlantic Canadians.

Charles O'Neil, director of gift planning at the QEII Foundation, is available at (902) 473-7932 or at qe2-hsc.ns.ca to explore all options available. All discussions are held in strict confidence and do not require any commitment on the part of the donor.
